Our volunteers all care about the environment! They are passionate, responsible individuals who we are eternally thankful for. Check out their profiles and read about how volunteering is important to them! (Profiles are ordered alphabetically.)
Steven graduated from SFU Business in 2005 and worked for a period in technology sales. This year, he has decided to go back to school and refocus his career on something he is more passionate about – the environment. In the mean time, he is volunteering his time with organizations like Green Chair Events that are dedicated to improving the welfare of the environment. It can be hard work at times, but he believes the end result is well worth it, and it is a pleasure working with such a warm and caring group of people as those in Green Chair.
Angela

Angela is a marketing professional with over ten years of experience in online marketing, brand advertising and social media. She knows it’s a challenge to be green and taking the initiative to communicate and promote eco-friendly activities will help encourage a sustainable community and environment. Angela is proud to be involved with Green Chair Events and helping them with their marketing, building awareness and educating the public.
Bodo
Bodo attends high school in Limburg, Germany. He is a Boy Scout and always tries to teach young people to care about the environment. The Scout’s moto is to always leave a place better than when you discovered it.
Bodo decided to volunteer for Green Chair because he was impressed by what we do. There are so many ways to protect the environment and Green Chair shows how to organize eco-friendly events. Green Chair showed him that you can create amazing things with simple recycled products. Although he had never heard about such an idea, he thinks it’s a perfect way to help people care more about the environment.
Cherry
Cherry is an international high school student from China. She goes to McMath Secondary and volunteers at Green Chair Events because she wants to experience different things. When she was in China, she didn’t know much about reusing, reducing and recycling as ways to protect our environment. She would like to learn more about this as well improve her English and meet like-minded people. She thinks that being involved in the community is a great way to learn about Canada.Christina
Christina is an SFU student majoring in human geography with an environmental specialty. Green Chair Events really gets involved in communities and wants to make a difference by creating awareness and promoting environmentally conscious activities. She believes that there are great things to be done in Vancouver and she want to be a part of it.
Derek
Derek is a student at Burnaby North Secondary. He enjoys working with Green Chair and sees it as a way of contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly city. Derek takes pride in finding new ways to help preserve the Earth.Dominic

Donald
Donald attends Burnaby North Secondary School and is also active with the Canadian Blood Services. He volunteers for Green Chair because he likes the company’s green philosophy. He is a self-described mother nature lover and has personally taken the initiative to do his part to help the environment.
Hannah
Hannah has finished all her courses at Douglas College and will be receiving an Associate’s Degree in the arts with a major in geography. During her time at college Hannah discovered that she was interested in geomorphology and human impacts on the environment. In the pursuit of these interests Hannah hopes to take the Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Diploma offered at BCIT and then possibly go on to the Ecological Restoration Program at BCIT. Hannah wants to take these programs because she wants to either do ecological restoration or land conservation.
Helena
Helena Diao attends Burnaby North Secondary. She enjoys volunteering for Green Chair because of the company’s green philosophy and the creative and innovative ways of reusing and recycling. Green Chair’s family-like environment makes helping the earth fun and rewarding.
Henry
Henry is environmentally conscious and loves photography. He believes Green Chair is the perfect place for him to fulfill both of his interests and help make Vancouver a more sustainable community. He currently studies Biology and is involved in various UBC events and clubs.
Jennifer
Jennifer Hao currently attends Burnaby North Secondary. She is an active student who volunteers in her community and with several school clubs. Jennifer was the winner of Canada’s Greenest School 2010 which won her high school a hybrid school bus, eco-friendly school supplies, and herself a scholarship. She volunteers for Green Chair Events because she believes that green events come with many benefits such as saving money and building sustainable communities.
Laiyi
Laiyi volunteers for Green Chair Events because she can help people learn that everyone can collectively consume resources more responsibly at an event. Laiyi enjoys volunteering at Green Chair’s events because she can bring out the enthusiasm in people for making sustainable choices. She supports how Green Chair works with anyone from an individual to schools to corporations in planning sustainable events. Not matter how small or large the event or occasion may be, Green Chair has the expertise to help. Laiyi Chow is a UBC Forestry student, who loves to volunteer in her community and share her care for the environment and people.
Natacha
Natacha attends the University of Law in Aix-en-Provence in France. She would like to specialize in International and European Environmental Law. She volunteers for Green Chair Events because she was interested in the idea of carrying out green events. She thinks that in a society worried about the environment, making events green is one great way to reduce our ecological impact.
Nicki
Nicki has worked in the environment field for over 7 years. During this time she has realised that there needs to be significant shift in the status quo towards more sustainable living. This vision requires hard work and innovation by individuals and companies, such as Green Chair. Nicki was impressed by the genuine green philosophy of Green Chair and is proud to be part of the evolving company. She hopes her carbon and sustainability expertise will provide useful input to the company.Olina

Olina is currently in her grade 12 year at Burnaby North Secondary and loves to bother her friends and family about being environmentally friendly! Her goal after finishing high school is to become an environmental engineer and help change the world and keep it looking beautiful! Volunteering for Green Chair has increased her love for the environment and also allows her to interact with other people to tell them about many different ways to save the earth!
